Six Weeks? Already?

the doll quilt for my niece Paloma

The abuelos are spending their last weekend of this trip with us before they head out on Tuesday. They have been SO much help (have you noticed the increased frequency of blog posts, for one?). I seriously don't know how I am going to manage without all the freedom and extra time I have had during the day to get things done. From righting car problems without a squirmy toddler in tow, to sewing projects and date nights, we have been so spoiled and blessed by their being here these last six weeks. Let me say it loudly now because I am absolutely THANKFUL! And let me say this too - Doña Aida's dinner tonight could easily be my last meal it was so delicious..

So I wanted to show off a couple of my many sewing projects I finished while they kept Isabella entertained.

First off, HOORAY FOR GRANDPARENTS! And second -- I hope you are going to be ready to teach me how to sew like that!! Bob is going to DC tomorrow for his security interviews, etc. We should know next week what the time line for moving will be. I'm getting excited and a little antsy!

thanks! we just said goodbye and it was so hard! Isabella wakes up in the morning and asks for them, first thing.

Amanda - I really surprised myself with the sewing. A year ago I would not have imagined enjoying something like that, but I absolutely love it. It helps that there are so many beautiful fabrics out there now too. Can't wait till you get here!

Did I say that I would know something this week about when we are moving? Man, I need an automatic slapping machine of something. We are really not any closer to knowing when we'll be back. I'm beginning to have suspicions that this is all part of a DIA psychological test for spouses -- let's see how far we can push her sanity by withholding all information about an overseas move that may or may not take place in the next 6 months. Now if I could just find the wiretap and hidden camera . . .
